Call for Best 5 Abstracts Competition
You are invited to submit your abstract to the 2nd Pan Arab Women Physicians Association Conference and the 1st Kuwaiti Women Physicians Conference in Kuwait.
The abstracts are considered to be presented in “The Five Best Abstract Session: Innovation in Medicine & Surgery”.
This session is a collaboration with the British Journal of Surgery (BJS) foundation and Open Source Research Organisation (OSRO).
The best abstract will win a prize of 1000 Euro and can be submitted as a manuscript to BJS or BJS Open.
DISCLOSURE
A disclosure form identifying commercial relationships for all co-authors must be completed by the submitting author, if their abstract has been accepted for publication. The submitting author signs and verifies disclosure on behalf of all co-authors. Disclosure information for accepted abstracts will be made available to the meeting attendees.
CO-AUTHOR APPROVAL
The submitting author must verify that all co-authors have read and approved the submission of the abstract.
AFTER THE SUBMISSION
- The reviewers will judge the abstracts according to scientific or clinical value, relevance to The conference, conclusions confirmed by objective results, objectivity of statements, originality of work and overall impression.
- The submitting authors will be notified by end of November 2024 at the email address provided during submission whether their abstract has been accepted.
THE BEST FIVE ABSTRACTS
- Five abstracts will be selected to be presented during the BJS-OSRC session in the conference.
- If your abstract is selected among the best five abstracts you will get complementary registration in the conference in case you want to present the abstract in person (no complementary registration for online and pre-recorded film presentation).
- The best abstract will be awarded BJS prize of 1,000 euro after submitting the full manuscript to BJS for considering it to publication and the author will be invited to contribute to BJS Academy
- If you need to withdraw your abstract, a written statement, reflecting the reasons of this decision, must be sent to conference email

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELIINES
The conference will only accept abstracts not previously presented to or under consideration by any international forum that would conflict with presentation at the 2nd Pan Arab Women Physicians Association Conference and the 1st Kuwaiti Women Physicians Conference in Kuwait on December 12th and 14th, 2024.
The conference will accept abstracts that have been presented at a national meeting, however may choose not to publish it if it has already been published. Please ensure you declare all relevant details when you
Before you submit your abstract:

Abstract Submission Opening: October 2024
Abstract Submission Deadline: 24th November 2024, 23:59 CET
Notifications to submitters: end of November 2024
Abstracts received after the deadline will not be accepted!
- Technical Requirements
- Upload your abstract as word document or PDF file. Other forms of files will not be accepted.
- Indicate whether you want to present the abstract in person, online or send a pre-recorded film. You can also choose all the options if you are in doubt.
- General
- Abstracts can only be submitted online via the website.
- For standardization, the acceptable length of the abstract is of maximum 300 words.
- Abstracts are accepted on a wide range of topics in medicine and surgery. The most important theme is innovation.
- The submitted abstract should be structured in the following way:
Aim: Cleary state the purpose of the abstract
Method: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects clearly
Results: Present your results in a logical sequence
Conclusion: Emphasize new and important aspects of the study and conclusions that are drawn from them
- Conflict of interest: The submitting author of an abstract is requested to declare any potential conflicts of interest for all authors. This can be added as a section after the conclusion.
- Abbreviations should be indicated in parentheses following their first mention in the text. Trade names cannot be mentioned in the title. However, trade names in brackets will beaccepted in the body of the text.
- The submission of an abstract constitutes a formal commitment by the submitting (presenting) author to present the abstract (if accepted) in the BJS session and the time assigned by the conference organisers.
- Please ensure your abstract does not contain spelling, grammar, or scientific mistakes, as it will be reproduced exactly as submitted. Linguistic accuracy is your responsibility. No proofreading will be done. No changes can be made to the abstract after the submission deadline.
